WIAW

Morning everyone, and happy WIAW!

I still have no charger, so this will have to be a quick post, just to let you know I'm still here, and hopefully I'll get my hands on a charger soon. So here is what I ate on Monday.

Breakfast: chorizo and scrambled eggs.

Morning snack: a conference pear and 5 almonds.

Lunchtime snack while I shopped: tikka turkey chunks (not usually my thing, but I was desperate, and couldn't face the thought of plain chicken!).

Lunch: a sliced persimmon.

Lunch: Chicken Curry and Rice Soup. This was delish!

Pre gym snack: banana (sorry no dodgy photo this week!)

Snack while cooking (yup that is a meal!): I shared these reduced watermelon slices with Iestyn.

Dinner: home made lamb koftes with veg and a mint and yogurt dip. I only ended up only eating one kofte and having the other on for breakfast the next day!

Dessert: His 'n Hers dark chocolate alpro soya dessert while watching Homeland.

Dessert mark two (!): celebration chocolates. These little things are dangerous, I had five altogether, but could of had many more!

As you can probably tell, I have let my paleo eating ways slip a little bit, mostly to include chocolate! Lunch was basically unplanned as I had yet not been food shopping for the week, and then everything else just happened! I'm working hard to maintain that balance between having a little bit of what I fancy over the Christmas period without going mad. I can feel it starting to snowball slightly over the past few days, so I'm going to try and pull it in a bit for a few days. I try and eat mostly paleo most of the time as I find this helps, although I am looking forward to rediscovering all the grains in my cupboards which I aim to use up in the coming weeks, so that in January I can fill my cupboards with paleo friendly foods! I am thinking of doing the Whole30. Anyone done this before? Anyone fancy joining me?

How do you deal with eating this time of year? I find that keeping to your normal way of eating for as long as possible helps. Also just because I have not been 100% on plan for a few days doesn't mean that I should gorge myself from now until Christmas, I can still reign myself back in, even if it is just for a day of clean eating, before the treats appear again! I'm thinking one day of treats, and one day of clean eating might be my plan, as I seem to have a party or a meal out every other day!

What is the nicest thing you ate today? I had a chorizo and egg white scramble: yum!

I'm reading it begins with food right now. Interesting but there's no way I am going to follow it since I'm semi-vegetarian!
